Behind a beautiful paste-on cover that can remind you of Come the Day is hiding something even more beautiful, a superb, appealing (and sometimes haunting) collection of breezy folk/pop songs - all performed by the school girls of Marymount College in Virginia. They are known as The Charms and their name doesn't lie. Without being as good as All in One, Sunshine Brings the Laughter is certainly one of the best albums in the genre with lovely, gentle female vocals. Most of the songs are nicely done covers (same repertoire that Claudine Longet), but there are some originals too and they are truly very good ("Journey of the Purple Skies", "After Thoughts During", "A Sunny's Dawn"…). Obviously, like all school project LPs, this work of art is terminally obscure.
